aww, I want this. tell me that is not cute! ; )

Someone(s) broke into the shed in our backyard this afternoon and it seems to have happened while I was at home, laying in bed, trying to get some sleep. My dogs were barking like crazy, but I didn't go see what was going on, so now I feel bad cause my dad's weed eater was stolen. Actually part of me feels bad and another part of me is kinda glad I didn't. Cause what if I did and I caught them..hell you never know what might happen. Just a few nights ago a convienent store worker was killed here because he was trying to stop a guy who tried to steal 2 packs of beer. So, I don't know. There's a fence between where my dogs are and the shed, so there was no way the dogs could have gotten to the person(s). My dad is going to leave the gate open on the fence from now on. The only reason we leave it shut now is that there is a family of cats who like to live under my 'car' in the back yard, and we didn't want anything happening to the cats. Hopefully, they'll find somewhere else to go if we start letting the dogs out...I surely don't want to walk out there and find dead cats..that's happened before and I really don't wanna do it again. I'm a little spooked about being home alone, but hopefully things will be fine.
Oh, and brian...if i upset you even more, i am sorry.

The concert last night was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was nice to hear come christmas music...got me a little more into the spirit. ; ) My friend liked it too, which was nice...I was afraid she wouldn't. Two things I liked the most was they played jingle bells in different styles...they started out playing the traditional way, then they played in a mexican style, then a japanese, then irish, etc. It was so cool. And the best part was they played part of a symphony by Beethoven (can't remember which one it was) and Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony in a swing style!!! That was soooo sweet! I love swing music and that was just awesome..the highlight of the evening for me, definitely. At the end, the conductor had the audience stand up and they played god bless america and the audience sang along (including your's truly). That was really nice. I got goosebumps..heh. It was a great night..after the concert, my friend and I went to starbucks and I got a vanilla latte...and well, i was kicking until about 2am..lol. that was some goooood coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, but it was cold and wet and I wanted something warm...of course after i ordered my latte, i noticed a white chocolate mocha. So I'll have to go back soon and order that. ; )

Ick...back to school tomorrow...boy these last 5 days went by fast. Hmm..I need to sit down and write my paper while the concert is relatively fresh in my mind...ugh...it's almost over..I can do it.

Hmm..my Thanksgiving...well, it was nothing exciting. It was just my parents and I, so it felt like any other day to me. I guess the only thing that was different was that we ate food that we only eat once or twice a year. ; ) But I hope everyone else's Thanksgiving was great. : )

Tomorrow night, I am getting all dressed up. I am going to a Tulare County Symphony Holiday concert. Oh, the joys of being in a music appreciation class. I must go, take notes and then write a paper on it. I am looking forward to it, cause it's basically going to be about how different cultures celebrate christmas, with dancers, singers and the symphony playing...i just hate that instead of being able to sit and take it all in, i have to take notes. I just hope the taking of the notes doesn't take too much away. Good news is that I got my best friend to go along with me (shocker!), so it'll be nice. Plus she'll help me so I won't get lost..lol. So I guess I am excited about going, except for the fact of having to take notes.

Hehe..I can hear the Sprint car races at the fairgrounds. man, i used to go to those things every friday night when i was little..probably 9, 10 years old. i went with my old best friend and her family. it was so much fun. we had a favorite driver, his name was doug silva and he drove car 2v and it was silver. i remember my friend got one of his trophies...i was supposed to get one but i never did. I quit going to the races when my friend moved to arkansas. i miss going...i miss the smell of the rubber burning, i miss mud flying through the air...*sighs*

Well, I thought I would update everything that is going on in my life.. ; )

Yesterday I had to re-take my typing test for the IRS because it didn't go through the first 2 times I took it. But I know I passed yesterday, so now I guess they'll call or write to me and let me know how i did on the written test and I guess i'll be told from there if I am eligable for a job. I sure hope I am.

This weekend I found out that one of my good friends, that i've known since elementary school and have been friends with since 7th grade, is pregnant. I still feel weird saying that...i'm still in shock, but I am happy for her. she is thrilled about it and looking forward to it, so if she is happy, i'm happy. : ) It's just...wow...I mean my friends and I may only be 20 or so..but it's weird...we are growing up and changing right before eachother's eyes. Anyways...

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Day. : ) Enjoy it and I am thankful and happy that I know everyone of you. : ) I love you guys!..lol ; )

From Rolling Stone Issue # 883/884. None of this is pulled out of context; this is the whole article.

"shallow hal has problems. not just the jerk title character, played with charmlessness to spare by the usually estimable Jack Black, but the movie itself. Here's the deal: hal can't see inner beauty. His daddy (Bruce McGill), a reverend, no less, uttered these dying words to young hal about what gives life meaning: "Hot young tail." Hal listened. the slightest physical imperfection disgusts Hal and his best bud, Mauricio (a shrill Jason Alexander). Hal wouldn't give a glane to 300-pound Rosemary (Gwyneth Paltrow in a fat suit), never mind her generous heart - she's a member of the peace corps, and her spare time goes to volunteering at a pediatric burn unit. but after tv guru tony robbins (as himself) hypnotizes hal in an elevator, the shallow one sees rosemary as the manifestation of her inner beauty, namely a babe (Gwyneth Paltrow as her skinny-blond-goddess self).
Do you see the fallacy? Directors Bobby and Peter farrelly - who wrote the script with sean moynihan and whose reps as masters of comic perversity (Dumb and Dumber, There's something about mary) will find no argument here - have publicly claimed to be pro-fat. The brothers have declared that shallow hal is their most emotional film. they love rosemary and decry the emphasis that our corrupt values place on physical perfection. but despite those claims, and Paltrow's sweet, sympathetic turn as Rosemary, the film itself is little more than a series of fat jokes: rosemary busting he chair in restaurants, not once but twice; rosemary gorging on cake, chili burgers and milkshakes; rosemary diving into a pool and creating a tidal-wave surge strong enough to propel a child into a tree. there is something condescending, not to mention hypocritical, about asking an audience to laugh uproariously at the spectacle of a fat person being sneered at and dissed as 'rhino' or 'hippo' or 'holy cow,' and then to justify those laughs by saying it's society's fault and tacking on a happy ending that allegedly teaches a moral lesson. It won't wash. For the first time, the farrellys seem to be embarrassed by their own crudeness. for the first time, they should be."

I have one thing to say to that: amen.

Ya know, today didn't feel like friday, in fact, it still doesn't...it feels like thursday...hmm.
well, i have a busy weekend ahead of me. today i applied to Fullerton. So here's hoping I get in. Tomorrow, i am testing for 4-5 hours for the IRS...(wooo, I am so looking forward to that). Then I have 2 essays to write this weekend, which shouldn't be too bad. they don't have to be long...and then i have to study. it's nice having something to do on the weekend, but too bad it can't be something else. ; )

Ya know, emotions are a funny thing:
I feel happy, sad, lonely, depressed, anxious, nervous, excited, tired, challenged, over-whelmed, loved, irritated, bored, motivated, achy, cold, curious, worried, confused, [like] giving up....
...now can someone explain to me how in the world i can be feeling all of these emotions at once? So many contradict themselves. that is what i do not understand...

November 09, 2001

I've noticed the last few days, at times, my chest has been getting tight, i have been shakey, and i've had this overall nervous feeling...which probably means i'm having anxiety problems again. i guess i have a few ideas of what is causing it, but i wouldn't think these things would cause me to be anxious. all i know is that i hate it. : \ *breathe in, breathe out*

November 08, 2001

Well, the last few days I've found a new way to occupy my time: I hooked up my old nintendo. Yes, the old school gaming system from the 80s. And I am lovin' it *big grin*. I've been playing Super Mario 3, one of my fav. games. I have never beat the game, so that is my goal..hehe. I'd like to have like a playstation or something, cause I love video games...but I still have my old one...I don't need any of the new high-tech gaming systems. My old one suits me fine..heck my atari would suit me fine if it still worked..heh.

Ooooh, in the mail today I got some clothes I ordered: a pretty lilac robe, w/matching slippers and a jacket..it's silver and warm...ya know, for those cold cali nights. ; ).

November 05, 2001

I saw something today that just cracked me up. Now, I don't know if it cracked me up because I am tried..or maybe cause I was drinking a Slurpee at the time and I had sugar in my system. But I saw a tow truck towing a tow truck! How funny is that??? lol. I just cracked up...
