Random-Like

It is officially Thanksgiving break, I have no more classes. I only went to one class today..skipped the other one. ;) I will actually consider it break after tomorrow. I'm filming a lot of our film project tomorrow, start at 1pm and probably going to at least 4:30pm - 5pm. Blah...I will be happy in the long run to get this done, but you all know how I hate production. :) I am the camera person, which isn't too bad. The guys in my group think my framing is good and whatnot, so I am happy.

Got the grade back on my music video...I got B (85%). I am extremely happy with that. Go me. ;)

This week in my American Character class (an American Studies class), we watched a film called Letters Home From Vietnam. It was definitely one of the most powerful documentaries I have seen. I was surprised I was able to hold back tears. This premiered on HBO in 1987 or 1988 and it was produced by veterans from the Vietnam War. They hired actors/actresses to read actual letters that soldiers sent home from Vietnam. Over the reading of the letters was actual film footage and photographs from Vietnam. It was amazing...and not really in a good way. Horrible images. It definitely hit me some how. My dad was in Vietnam, but not on the ground. He was on a ship, so I would imagine he didn't see a lot of the horrifying things that other men did, but I keep thinking that he could have. I definitely recommend it, if it's your cup of tea. I've always been interested in the Vietnam War (and WWII). Maybe it's because I have relatives how fought in both wars. It's interesting, my maternal grandfather (whom I never met) had buttons and pins that he stole off of dead German soldiers in WWII. My mom has them now...I guess he had a lot of guns and swords or something from German soldiers but they all got stolen. Yeah..anyways...sorry for that side step....

Thanks to the people who e-mailed me about my treatment. If anyone's still interested, feel free to e-mail me. I really want to do a good job on this, so I want all of the input I can get. :)

Well, better go check on my lunch...

My Treatment

I finished it after 12 noon today...about 2 hours before it was due. But at least I got it done. I had to bring 4 copies to class for peer evaluations and I got one copy back today and the guy who read it had some good points and insights. So, this is what I thought I'd ask. For the whole 5 or 6 of you that read this (lol), I'd love to get your thoughts and opinions on my treatment because all of you are great writers. I know most of you are busy, so if you don't have time or just don't care really, no worries...but if you are interested, will you e-mail me? There wouldn't be too much of a rush. The final draft isn't due until Dec. 11th. I'll just send everything in an attachment, so I'm not posting close to 20 pages on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks. :)

Not much else is going on. My group filmed some of our film project last night. We're going to do some Thursday and film on Saturday. (Which means I'm not going home for Thanksgiving until Monday). Last night went smooth, so I hope everything else does.

I am really looking forward to going home for Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to relaxing. I think I need to get out of here...I've worked hard for a good month and a 1/2. :)

Got to Represent

Btw, I put all of these up because I am a part of 311's Online Street Team...just tryin to help the band. Ya never know if a new visitor might show up.. :)

Anyways, I haven't been up to much lately. This week is going by fast...tomorrow is Thursday already. I have a busy weekend ahead. I have a test on Friday, an American Film paper due on Monday and my treatment due on Tuesday. I've notes for the paper done and I've written one paragraph for my treatment...got a long way to go though. From writing that one paragraph, I don't think it will be too hard to write. I was thinking about posting it up here when it was done, to get opinions...but it's supposed to be 10-20 pages, so I don't know if I any of you would want to read it. What do you guys think?

I registered for my classes on Monday. I got a stupid schedule once again. The Film classes have bad times and the American Studies ones aren't that great either. I am taking contemporary American Film (I am looking forward to this class, but it sucks cause it's on Friday from 1-4pm), Children's TV (another film class), Intro to Criminal Justice (taking this for GE), Intro to American Pop Culture (an American Studies class), and Bohemians/Beats: Cultural Radicism (another American Studies class). I think subject wise, I am going to like next semester. I also officially declared American Studies as my minor. Actually, my advisor told me that I could double major because enough classes from my major crossover. So, I am considering that...that would be cool. Right now I'm going to stick w/the minor and if I find I have time in my schedule, I will double major. I think that would be cool. I really love American Studies. I am not sure what I could do w/ a major in American Studies (besides teach, which I am not interested in), but it is interesting and I am learning a lot.

Unfortunately, school is the bulk of my life right now. Can't wait for this next week to be over. I get to go home for a week for Thanksgiving. That will be nice. :)

Oh another thing I've been thinking about...I really want to try and find a job for winter...but I really want to go home for Christmas, especially with my dad having his health problems. So...yeah, I don't know what to do. I need the job and the money, but I want to go home more...I am torn as what to do. Any ideas? Suggestions? Criticisms? :)

The Happiest Place on Earth

Went to Disneyland w/Merc and Ong yesterday. I had so much fun. Walked around, rode rides, saw a guy wearing a 311 shirt, watched the fireworks, bought a Tigger pen...it was definitely good times. I just really like Disneyland...probably corny, but I don't care. Sometimes a person needs to get in touch w/their corny/silly side. :)

Oh... and speaking of 311...

Not Much to Say

Hello all...just thought I'd check in. I'm getting really bad at this blogging thing. I'm thinking it's because there hasn't been a whole lot going on.

The break from the craziness of school ends this week. I have a test on Nov. 14th, a 5-10 page paper due on Nov. 17th and I have the rough draft of my treatment due, which is 10-20 pages, on Nov. 18th. Plus there is another production project in the works. So yeah...lots of work and writing to do.. *sigh* This semester is just really bad...and I don't think next semester is going to be much better. Guess I will have to see.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. :) See, told you I didn't have much to say...life seems to be rolling along...
